Hi BM!

First of all, thanks for posting your question on our talk page!!

With regards to the stamina question, all I can say is I wish I had done the same amount of work as Simon 'steel chops' Lenton when I was a kid!!!! When I first joined the group in 1997 it took a good year before I felt comfortable doing a full concert. Like Simon says, exposure it the key to everything!!! (oo-er!) the more you do it the easier it gets. As far as pacing yourself goes................ tried that and it doesn't work. Audiences can tell when you are holding back and the overall performance suffers. Certainly, at a FABE concert no-one holds back at any point - we always go for the exitement rather than the safety aspect which (95% of the time) comes off. I once likened playing in a brass quintet to 'sprinting a marathon' in a magazine interview - it gives you the idea of the physical nature of our job!! So, you can imagine that as far as practice goes on tour, I'm also sitting by the pool with Mr. Lenton and Mr. Hogg.
