Grade 2 jazz+School band

This message was contributed by Dan on 6/3/06.

Hello again,

I have just this thursday played for jazz grade 2 and have good hopes for passing.
My school band is having a small tour around 4 schools around yeovil!! BUT i'm having a bit of trouble with one of the faster parts the first couple of bars on ''A SALUTE TO GLEN MILLER'' And because i'm the only trumpet player in the band i have to play the beginning on my own, i'm not sure how i can improve my speed of fingering do you have any tips please?. I'm very good at playing by ear and i now can play parts of ''carnival of venice--James and hayburner!! And hope to be as good as Angela/Simon one day

Thank-you again for the exellent performance at cliften college

Dan.
