I own a Bryant Newell cornet and a few years back asked noted brass instrument collector Richard J. Dundas (author Twentieth Century Brass Musical Instruments in the United States ISBN 0-9617093-1-6) about this instrument. He claimed that the company only operated for a few years in the mid-1920's which is seems inaccurate given your bill of sale. The Newell Bryant cornet bares a strong resemblence to vintage York cornets, so perhaps they were manufactured by York under a contract with the Newell Bryant Co. To see this resemblence just go to Dillionmusic dot com and look under used instruments, cornets, and go to the last page.
