I have a dog called Cuthbert that I haven't been able to teach a thing to since he was a pup. I'm sure you're a different animal so with the right amount of interference from the right teacher you should be able to learn a few new tricks. The key is to find the right way that works for you - more so now that you're an adult than when you were younger. The only answer is practice I'm afraid - but the right sort of practice whereby you only work on the things you don't do so well. I suspect you might never have hammered the things you couldn't do as a young trumpeter hence the reason why you might not be able to do them as an adult. Best of luck anyway - Simon
