FAB on Utterly Brilliant TV Show

This message was contributed by Alison Medway on 13/9/04.

Hi there. Many years ago you recorded a t.v. programme with Timmy Mallet called - if I remember correctly - Utterly Brilliant, about the history of brass instruments. You made the playing fun, and included vaccuum cleaner hoses, hose pipes, early instruments etc. There was a performance of part of the William Tell Overture and finished with 'No business like show business' on a variety of tubing. At the time I recorded the programme and used it to help me in my teaching as Head of Music at a local school. When I left that school I left my compilation of 'fun stuff' for the next music teacher. Unfortunately she neither used it, nor kept it!!! I'm now frantically trying to track down a recording of that programme to help me inspire some more youngsters as I've just taken on a part-time music post at another school. Please - can you help at all??? Many thanks. Alison.
P.S. Both my kids are brass players. My daughter plays flugel for Alcester Victoria Silver Band - a small local band. My son's a trombonist!
