more tuba talk

What I want to know is.....why, in all of the people who read FABE's page, has no-one come up with a decent reason why Tubas aren't a waste of space? That was my original point, and apart from a few drunken banders, no-one has bothered to refute my case. Case proven, then?

Surely there are tuba players out there who will defend their paltry instrument. And another thing...why can't tuba players
1 Swing
2 play short notes
3 play more than 1 1/2 dynamics

Why...

4 are all fat
5 have no conversation
6 what the hell is the point of a tuba mute?
7 pay for their round..ever
8 think that playing low notes equates to manliness in some way
9 IT IS NOT A SOLO INSTRUMENT for God's sake...
10 I'm sure there are more

None of the above applies to Sam Elliot, of course, who is a genius, although he has been known to steal breakfasts. But as for the rest of the tuba playing world...don't make me laff. Discuss...

Sidney
