OOOHHH! I used to loathe this bloke's music.

Used to get sad banders wandering up clutching his tuba sonatina, thinking it was "a bit modern", 'cause it dipped briefly into 5/8, but "they'd give it a go". It was 1% better than most tuba music, but 100% worse than the few very good tuba pieces, so I just got on with it.

As for playing an ensemble piece by him, I'd rather have eaten my own head, a not inconsiderable job. Cheesefest is right - lordy lordy, did Stravinsky write all his music in vain? Did the twentieth century never happen? I mean, let's refer to the past by all means, but dear God,......

Ogh...shudder..no ta. That's what I think. Excuse me while I fall off my soapbox...hopefully I'll land on JK....should shut him up...
