One of the most recommended books for brass players is "The Art of Brass Playing" by Philip Farkas.
Is this for sale anywhere at reasonable prices? All I have found are in the "collector" category in the range of $125 to $350.

Dear Ashley
There are various books in this excellent series produced by members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the 1960/70s.
I cannot reccomend either of the two Farkas books highly enough. The Art of Brass playing is a superb general guide but also of interest are The Art of French Horn Playing (Farkas) far too good just for horn players and The Art of Trombone Playing (Kleinhammer).
Other members of the legendary CSO section imortalised in print include tubist Arnold Jacobs and his famous book Song & Wind ghost written by Brian Frederiksen.
If you have trouble getting any of these titles a great music store is www.Hickeys.com
Don't be put off by ordering online from the US if you live in Europe, it will probably be cheaper because of a favourable exchange rate.
Good luck
Simon H
